International Day - with Music Performances from 9am

This event will take place on 23/06/2023

At St Margaret’s Lee School we are fortunate to be represented by children and families from a wide ethnic and cultural background. To celebrate our school’s diversity, this year we will be having a whole school musical celebration at 9am (parents are welcome to stay and watch), followed by an afternoon of fun, food and music for the whole community (parents welcome from 2pm).

There is also the opportunity for everyone to dress up in their national costumes. Children who do not have a national costume could dress up in party clothes or sporting team colours for the afternoon, or perhaps wear ribbons in their country’s colours.

Volunteers Needed!

We could not do it, and have as much fun as we do, without the help and support of our wider community.

The sign-up sheets for food and craft stalls will be up outside Reception class from Tuesday 13th June. Please sign up to help and/or bring food. Just like last year, each sign up gets their name put in a raffle to say thank you for your help. If your name is pulled out then a little pamper treat or some fizz could be winging its way to you at the end of the day!

We especially need volunteers for hair braiding and henna hand painting.  If you know where resources can be purchased for this, or have some of your own you would like to contribute, please get in touch with Ms Steer or the office.

Food

International Day is best when we have a wide range of foods to share and try. Please consider donating some food even if it is a small amount. Please ensure there are NO NUTS in any food provided. We will give you a display card and help create a description. Please list ingredients, country of origin and the name of the dish.
